It is something particularly important, because people with gender problems
are spread throughout the world. For most of them, who are today without any care, or even
any possibility of care, we are only able to meet them electronically through the web.
For example, in the middle of Brazil, in the far Amazon, or in the far interior
of most Brazilian regions, there is no knowledge, even for doctors and
psychologists, of those kind of problems. And in the interior of Africa?
And in Asia, and even USA and Europe? And the lot of prejudices against gender
problems, sex differences and peculiar situations throughout the
world, among almost all cultures (see Vatican official reactions against them!)?
Who helps them? Who helps the
transgendered people in the streets of the big cities? Who helps the
intersex babies being assigned in the hospitals, and being surgically transformed in
future gender dysphorics? Who alerts their families to the danger to which
they are exposing their children? We think that, at the present time, the web is the only place in which such
work must be
developed.
And we believe we are the first
website, or one of the first, to do that kind of development, so important
and so necessary.
This site is pluridisciplinary in its basic definition, because gender and gender problems are multidisciplinary problems, really holistic and systemic problems.
There will be all kinds of experts to treat our patients: sexologists, endocrinologists, psychiatrists, psychologists and others, working together in cooperation, each one in its specialty, possibly even in partnership. Each one, in their country, will be a licensed professional in their own area.
