MtF surgeries:

The main surgeries a MtF TG or HBS/TS will need will be:


• Breast implant surgeries;
  
  
• Butt implant surgeries;
  
  
• Lyposuction and sculture;
  
  
• Adam's apple elimination;
  
  
• Face feminization - FFS;
  
  
• Sexual Reassignment - SRS.
  
  

From these surgeries, only too really may need a referral letter - FFS and SRS.

The SRS we consider as a special referral letter, and we consider in another page. So here, for MtF's, the surgeries that may need a referral is a FFS (when we include Adam's apple elimination).

We include not here Orchiectomy - the elimination of testicles. We believe that is not a good solution, and we may consider it only in extreme situations. A bad orchiectomy may triggers a lot of difficulties for a future SRS. In that aspect almost all orchiectomy may be considered as a bad one. So, if the patient intends one day to have a SRS we never suggest an orchiectomy.

Only if the patient shows us the absolutely necessity of it - not only to diminish the intake of female hormones, for example, but due to a real necessity, we may consider an orchiectomy referral letter, considering the same conditions as for an FFS referral letter.

FtM surgeries:

The main surgeries a FtN will need will be:

• Mastectomy - breasts elimination;
  
  
• Complete hysterectomy - ovaries, uterus and Phallopius elimination;
  
  
• Vaginectomy;
  
  

We never suggest a vaginectomy, we suggest it only with the metaiodioiplasty - or neophalloplasty.

So we may prepare referral letters for Mastectomy and Complete Hysterectomy, when possible and when the patient is ready for it and it is necessary.
