We Agree

  • Bill of Gender Rights written by JoAnn Roberts in 1990
  • Gender as Ilness: Issues of Psychiatric Classification, written by Katherine K. Wilson, 1997
  • The treatment of intersex proposed by Alice Dreger, 1999
  • OII Points of Principle
  • With most parts of the Standards of Care, 2001, version 6, from Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association- HBIGDA (nowadays WPATH)

We do not Agree

  • That kind of "religious" psych therapy
  • Prof. Zucker's "reparative" therapy for children
  • With the DSD terminology for intersex
  • With Blanchard's and Bailey's "autogynephilic" - really "transphobic" points of view

Web-Based help and care access

We developed gender therapy, counseling and advising online. Something new.

This is particularly important, because people with gender issues are spread throughout the world.

For most of them, who are without any care, or even any possibility of care, we are only able to meet them electronically, through the web.

For example, in the middle of Brazil, in the far Amazon, or in the far interior of most Brazilian regions, there is no knowledge, even for doctors and psychologists, of these issues.

And in the interior of Africa? And in Asia, and even USA and Europe? And there are a lot of prejudices against gender problems, sex differences and peculiar situations throughout the world, among almost all cultures (see the Vatican's official reactions against them!)?

Who will help them? Who helps the transgendered people in the streets of the big cities? Who helps the intersexed babies being assigned in the hospitals, and being surgically transformed into future gender dysphorics? Who alerts their families to the danger to which they are exposing their children?

We think that, at the present time, the web is the only place in which such work must be developed.

And we believe we are the first website, or one of the first, to do this very important and so necessary, kind of development.

This site is pluridisciplinary in its basic definition, because gender and gender problems are multidisciplinary problems, really holistic and systemic problems.

There will be all kinds of experts to treat our patients: sexologists, endocrinologists, psychiatrists, psychologists and others, working together in cooperation, each one in theeir specialty, possibly even in partnership. Each one, in their country, a licensed professional in their own area.

About our Methods

Therapy, Counseling and Advising on the web is something fairly new.

But Gender Therapy, Counseling and Advising is also something new, even outside the medium of the Web!

We intend to work with our patients in two ways:

By email exchange and tests online and

by sending paper documents through the post service, including signed letters and referral letters, to the patient and, where relevant, to the surgeons and local experts.
